■ Character Backstory
A child born into a family with wealth and notoriety, Evanora's childhood was one of relative ease. From a young age she was taught the very same religion that many of Ishgardian birth learn, emulating not only her parents but also her older sister in terms of mannerisms.
Evanora always took great pains to look her best, as looking improper would speak poorly of her family's name - a name that she never wishes to forsake, one whose morals she defends with the utmost propriety.
Upon growing older, Evanora has come to love the elegant swordplay that comes with using a rapier. She has taught herself how to adapt celestial themed white-aligned magic and - with some assistance from the Thaumaturge's guild in Ul'dah - some powerful black-aligned magic into her skillset. This has effectively made her into what she likes to call a "Spellsword".■ Personality:
+ Self-assured, decisive, reliable and honest
- Selfish, stubborn, judgemental, direct

Likes

  • Evanora adores cats - especially her own cat, Belle.

  • Enjoys some good competition and will take up an issued challenge if she can.

  • Her favourite colour is Dalamud Red.

  • Has a fascination with all things magical, which has evolved into an interest in the 13th and it's denizens.

Dislikes

  • She isn't a fan of the heat, despite her constant trips to Ul'dah.

  • Dragons still instill some level of fear and disgust in her, so she will avoid them. This extends to those previously determined "Heretics" by the Holy See as well.

  • Despises when those around her try to one-up her.

  • Dislikes being told what to do.

Trivia

■ The original founder of Miraudel's Mending, Sophianne originally opened the business when she was unable to find a reliable tailor to mend her garments.
Since her passing, the business has traded hands through the generations - eventually landing in the care of Norlaise, who currently manages the store with her daughter Lucienne.
■ Almost every marriage on Percivains' side has been arranged, with the exception of Saulette and Octavel's. Saulette pleaded with her father to allow her to marry whomsoever she wished, and after having seen how his sister suffered at her arranged husband's hand, he agreed.■ Publically, not much is known about the Lothaire and Noudenet family. Ydaine was a very secretive woman and kept her family's lineage close to her heart, only telling her husband Edouard her secrets once she was on her deathbed. To honour her wishes, Edouard has recorded as much as he could into the family annals and never once speaking a word of her origins.■ Norlaise is relatively well-known for her talents in weaving fabrics for the clergy of the Holy See. She passed her talents onto her daughters from a young age in hopes that they would take up her work once they both came of age.
Despite initially disapproving of her daughter's foray into magic, Norlaise was the one who commissioned skilled smiths to craft Evanora her first rapier, as a gesture of goodwill.
■ Percivains worked for the Holy See as an Inquisitor, known by the former Brume residents as someone who was unkind yet fair in his judgements. He was never one to take an innocent without good reason, and severely punished the worst offenders.
A man of decent magical prowess, Percivains was the one to discover his daughter’s talent in magic, going on to encourage her to pursue her interest through funding tutors for her education, much to his wife's dismay.
■ Romanique never knew his biological parents, as he had grown up under Leodaire's roof since he was but a babe. His mother passed while giving birth to him, and his father never made attempt to contact him. He theorizes to this day that he was an unwanted pregnancy.■ The twins Yvelont and Vallerin were both drafted for the war, as they both possessed the physical prowess to take on dragons head-on. Unfortunately, only one twin would survive, leaving Vallerin alone on the battlefield. His armor soaked in his brother's blood, Vallerin slew the beast who robbed him of his best friend. To this day he can be found wandering about, honing his lance-arm against any dragon that barrs his way.

OOC info!

G'day, I'm Onyx!!
I'm an OCE-based player who has been playing XIV since early Shadowbringers. Please refer to me using they/them pronouns.
I'm relatively new when it comes to roleplay, so please forgive me if I take a rather long time to write out responses - especially if they end up just being a line or so. Usually this means I'm rewriting what I'm saying so often that I give up on what to say and just go for what's easiest.I'm open to most forms of rp - that being said, if you wish to rp anything 18+, please talk with me beforehand. It may be a topic I'm uncomfortable with, or not wishing to do.Contact: Onyx#0041 / @EvanoraD_ / @evanora.bsky.social
